Firefox Review

I started using the Firefox (then Phoenix) browser sometime in the fall of 2002. I had always enjoyed Mozilla, but felt that it's sluggish load times and bundled nature were drawbacks. When I found Firefox I was immediately drawn to its smaller download size, faster startup times, and it's XUL interface.

The XUL thing I found by accident one day right-clicking the titlebar. When I saw you could drag new buttons and rearrange the whole interface I was hooked.

Over time and through each successive release and project rename I saw the executable basically get smaller. Not that I would have minded it growing in size, but I thought that a testament to the development team's skills.

I had big plans for this review. It will remain a simple page with some general impressions.

Please give firefox a try.
